Right after the rain cleared, I took this photo during a hike we had planned the day before. The ground was still a little wet, and everything smelled fresh from the rain. We started at the entrance of the trail and made our way toward some handmade tree nets hidden along the path. Getting there wasn’t super easy. We decided to take a shortcut, which ended up being a narrow and kind of risky path near a steep drop. The dirt was loose and slippery, so we had to be really careful because one wrong step could’ve been bad.
After a bit, we reached the first tree net. The view opened up right away, and you could see the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. It was honestly really cool and looked just as good as we expected. We didn’t stay there too long and decided to head to another tree net nearby. It wasn’t that far, but the trail had a lot of uphill and downhill parts, which made it feel longer than it actually was.
From there, we looked out over the western side of San Francisco just as the sun started coming out from behind the clouds. The lighting changed everything, it went from gray and dull to warm and bright. Being close to the coastal edge made it even better, with the ocean and cliffs adding to the view. We stayed there for a little while, just taking it all in, but after some time, the clouds came back and covered the sun again, making everything look darker like before.
