The weather was perfect, with clear skies and plenty of sunshine throughout the day.
We started our journey in Berkeley and made our way toward the trail leading up to Inspiration Point. From the very beginning, the hike was challenging. The route took us up countless staircases and steep rolling hills that seemed to go on forever. Every time we reached the top of one climb, another hill appeared ahead of us.
Despite the difficulty, the scenery made every step worth it. As we gained elevation, the views continued to open up around us. We stopped several times along the way to catch our breath, drink water, and take in the landscape stretching across the East Bay hills.
After miles of hiking, we finally reached Inspiration Point. Looking out from the overlook, we could see the beautiful San Pablo Reservoir surrounded by rolling green hills. Nearby, a trail led us to Seaview Trail. We then hiked all the way up and saw a bench where we sat and rested for a while, enjoying the quiet atmosphere and the view below. It was one of those places that makes all the effort feel worthwhile.
In total, the hike ended up being about 11 miles round trip. It was one of the most physically demanding hikes I've done, with its combination of long distances, steep hills, and endless stairs. By the time we made our way back down, our legs were exhausted, but it felt rewarding knowing we had completed the entire journey.
It was a great day outdoors, filled with good conversation, challenging trails, and some of the best views the Berkeley hills have to offer.
