It had just stopped raining when I captured this photo during a hike. We started near Lincoln Park and first made our way to some unique tree nets that had been built by others. We took a slightly sketchy path and ended up near the edge of a cliff. One wrong step and you could tumble down the mountain.
After less than a minute, we reached the first tree net and took in the view, which included the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. It didn’t disappoint. From there, we headed to a second tree net that wasn’t too far away, but still required a good hike with both uphill and downhill sections.
We then enjoyed the view facing west of San Francisco as the sun began to come out, creating a beautiful atmosphere. After spending around 20 minutes there, the cloud drifted in front of the sun, which made it cloudy once again. We started searching for a hidden tunnel. After we'd found it, we observed the tides and decided best not to go. It's good to know your limits and not test your ego. The hike towards Sutro Baths wasn't as bad as we'd imagined.
Once at the edge of the Pacific west of San Francisco, we then took in the scenery and observed the ruins for a while. Sutro Baths was an incredible sight, though very windy, and easily one of my favorite views from the trip. A boat drifted off into the distance while the ruins sat right in front of it, making the moment feel almost unreal.
After exploring, we took Muni all the way back to the Financial District of San Francisco, ending the day after an unforgettable hike and experience.
